ManageEngine adds Amazon Cloud Infrastructure Monitoring to Applications Manager Software

AUSTIN, TX, September 20, 2010ManageEngine, makers of a globally renowned suite of cost-effective network, systems, security and applications management software solutions, today announced that support for monitoring Amazon cloud services is now part of ManageEngine Applications Manager, the company's widely deployed server and application performance monitoring software.

ManageEngine Applications Manager provides in-depth monitoring of applications, including VMware, and the components that support those applications, such as servers, databases, web transactions and more. The new monitoring capabilities announced today, part of Applications Manager version 9.3, allow organizations to proactively monitor the health and performance of their critical cloud infrastructure, while also providing them the visibility needed to determine resource utilization in the cloud

The cloud monitoring capabilities offered by ManageEngine Applications Manager give IT administrators valuable insight into the performance and availability of Amazon’s cloud computing services, such as Amazon EC2 and RDS instances. With the aid of comprehensive performance metrics as well as in-depth graphs, IT administrators can ensure their applications hosted on the Amazon cloud are performing at optimum levels, and can detect and resolve problems in a timely manner.

ManageEngine Applications Manager tracks multiple key performance indicators of Amazon EC2 and RDS instances and EBS volumes, such as uptime, CPU, network and disk stats and more. These metrics allow IT administrators to easily understand how well their cloud resources are being utilized and helps them in capacity planning. It also gives administrators the ability to monitor compliance with service level agreements and ensure a high quality end-user experience.

With the addition of Amazon cloud services management capabilities, Applications Manager now provides IT administrators with a single console for monitoring applications in the cloud as well as inside the corporate datacenter.

"The value I get from using Applications Manager is tremendous. I’m very pleased with their product innovation and excellent support staff," said Robert Perez, Enterprise Security Administrator, Ventura Foods, LLC. "With Applications Manager, I can monitor the performance and availability of our business-critical applications. Regardless of whether the applications are running in a physical environment, as part of a virtual environment, or even in the cloud, Applications Manager gives me insight and control through a single easy to use interface. I recommend it."

"A growing number of organizations are moving a part of their IT infrastructure to the cloud for better business agility," said Gibu K. Mathew, product manager, Applications Performance Management Solutions at ManageEngine. "By including support for monitoring Amazon cloud services, we are providing them the technology required to embrace a cloud computing strategy. This, along with the virtualization monitoring support that we announced earlier this year, will help our customers monitor their physical, virtual and cloud computing environments using a single product."
