Business challenges:

  • Remote workforce management: Operating with a hybrid workforce setup, MVV Environment Ltd. faced hurdles in providing its remote users with secure, seamless access to IT resources without a constant connection to the main controller. The existing VPN setup mandated separate user credentials for each connection, leading to a fragmented user experience.
  • Password policy enforcement: As part of its cybersecurity program, the organization was required to define stringent password policies to maintain optimal credential hygiene. With native Active Directory capabilities in play, its IT team was unable to configure strict password policies for the remote workforce.

The Problem:

With over a quarter of its workforce working from remote locations, MVV Environment Ltd. was seeking a solution that enabled its remote employees to self-reset their credentials, a functionality that proves to be crucial during account lockouts.

Furthermore, the organization's IT department wanted to enforce a strong password policy. Christina Hellier, the IT support manager at MVV Environment Ltd., recounted that, with its existing Windows 2019 server, the IT team was only able to set 16 characters as the required limit for passwords. This proved to be a major friction point for the organization's remote user experience.

Mark Poole, the head of IT, recalled how self-service capabilities and password policy enforcement were also an essential requirement for the organization's cybersecurity program. The Solution:

Despite the initial complexities brought by the integration between ADSelfservice Plus and the organization's existing VPN setup, the implementation process was characterized by responsive and patient support. Hellier reminisced about how the integration was contextually implemented by ManageEngine's custom onboarding team.

Recounting how prompt and accessible the custom onboarding team was, Hellier recalled, "[The onboarding team] was so approachable, and [we received] really fast responses every time I've emailed your team." The collaborative resolution of integration challenges ensured a successful deployment that aligned seamlessly with MVV Environment Ltd.'s unique requirements.
