Іdaho Central Credit Union has recently notified some of its customers about two data breaches. The breaches affected personal information including names; dates of birth; Social Security numbers; financial account information; tax identification numbers; and information on borrowers including liability, assets, employment, and income.
The first incident happened on November 5, 2019, and the IT team confirmed the breach on November 8, 2019. The second incident was detected in December 2019, and involved unusual activity related to an employee’s email account. Investigations lasted for two months, and a data breach notice was sent to customers on February 6, 2020.
Іdaho Central Credit Union is offering two years of identity monitoring services and identity restoration services free of charge to affected customers. Since the attack, the company has reviewed its policies and implemented more stringent IT security measures.
