P itney B owes is a popular tech shipping company that provides mailing services to more than 1.5 million clients across the world. On October 14, P itney B owes revealed that Ryuk ransomware encrypted information on some of its systems and disrupted customer access to some of its services.
As soon as the attack was detected, the in-house Enterprise Outage Response Team and third-party security experts launched an investigation. As per the findings, there's currently no evidence that indicates any customer accounts have been impacted in the attack. The impacted systems included mailing system products and customers’ access to Your Account.
According to its website, “Our technical team is working to restore the affected systems, and it is working closely with third-party consultants to address this matter. We are considering all options to expedite this process and we appreciate our customers’ patience as we work toward a resolution.”
