Configuring Proxy Server
Mobile Device Manager Plus uses this configuration to connect to internet. It is used for the Mobile Device Manager Plus server to contact the APNs, FCM, WNS servers and the managed mobile devices.
(If you're using MDM in Endpoint Central), Proxy settings can be configured by navigating to Proxy under Settings dropdown in the left pane.
No Connection to Internet
- On the web console, click the Admin tab to invoke the Admin page.
- Click the Proxy Configuration link. This opens the Proxy Settings page.
- Select the No Connection to Internet option and click OK
You can choose this option if your MDM Server has no access to the Internet or if your organization works within a closed network like DMZ.
On selecting this, you can manage both Android and Windows devices easily. However, you cannot manage any Apple devices when you configure this option. To know more about managing Android devices when you have no access to Internet, please refer How to manage Android Devices without using FCM.
Direct Connection to Internet
- On the web console, click the Admin tab to invoke the Admin page.
- Click the Proxy Configuration link. This opens the Proxy Settings page.
- Select the Direct Connection to the Internet option and click OK
HTTP Proxy Configuration
- On the web console, click the Admin tab to invoke the Admin page.
- Click the Proxy Configuration link. This opens the Proxy Settings page.
- Select the Manual Proxy Configurations option and specify the Proxy host, port, user name and password of the HTTP Proxy.
- Click OK to save the configuration.
Configure Automatically using Script
Using this option, you can automate the proxy configuration using a script. All the required specifications, can be customized in a script and the Proxy PAC URL can be specified. You will have to provide the authentication details for configuring the proxy.
Ensure these ports and domains are allowed on the server machine and/or the devices to be managed
