Alarms are notifications generated based on some condition or criteria thereby helping the Admin to detect problems earlyon. You can configure thresholds and alarms for availability and health of the Monitor Group. Based on them actions can be executed.

You can configure alarms and actions (like sending EMail) for Availability and Health of the entire Monitor Group based on the dependent attributes. For eg., individual attributes like Availability of the JBoss server, Availability of the Windows server will determine the availability of the Banking Application Monitor Group. If these Monitors are down, Banking Application Monitor Group is also down. From the list of available actions, you can associate the required action according to the severity of the alarm. For eg. If the Banking Application Monitor Group is also down and the associated action (Critical Alarm action) is trigged accordingly.
