Browser Security Settings

IT admins should make sure employees' browsers have strong security settings to protect against online threats. Traditionally, this was done using Group Policy (GPO) and ADMX templates. But GPO can be complicated. Browser Security Plus offers a simpler way to manage browser security settings centrally.

Browsers have become a primary vector for cyberattacks, facilitating data breaches and targeted ransomware attacks. Recognizing this trend, browser vendors are actively developing and promoting security features that should be enabled by end users to mitigate these risks.

Browser Security Policies

Administrators can deploy these policies to different browsers on various computers from a central location. Once applied, end users cannot change these settings, ensuring that recommended security measures are always in place. Endpoint Central offers three sets of policies to address browser security. These policies combine browser settings from Chrome, Internet Explorer, Edge, and Firefox to meet specific needs.

  • Data Leakage Prevention

    Implement robust data security policies to safeguard sensitive information. This includes managing password policies, disabling autofill features, preventing the deletion of browser history, and restricting third-party cookie storage, among other measures.

    Threat prevention policies help IT admins ensure that computers are protected from online threats. By enabling safe browsing for Chrome and the Smart Screen filter for Edge and Internet Explorer, IT admins can shield users from malicious websites and drive-by attacks.
