How to create an image repository?

The prerequisites for creating and deploying an image using OS Deployer involve creating two repositories: an image repository and a driver repository. As the name indicates, the images created using online and offline imaging processes are stored in the image repository.

OS Deployer follows a similar process for creating an image repository as well as a driver repository. The steps in this document can be used to create an image repository in the following scenarios:

  1. To create an image repository by clicking the image repository tab from the side panel.
  2. To create an image repository during the image creation process.

Steps to create an image repository

Fill in the following details to configure the image repository for any of the above-mentioned scenarios.

  1. Image repository name: The name of the image repository that is being configured. This name cannot be changed later.
  2. Remote Office: The remote office that is to be associated with the image repository.
  3. Share Path: The UNC (Universal Naming Convention) path of a network share that is already configured. This path must have "Read" access for everyone, and "Write" access for the following credential.
  4. Credential: This User credential must have "Read" and "Write" access to the machine where the image repository is located..
  5. IP Address (Optional): The IP address of the machine where the network share is located.
  6. FQDN (Optional): The FQDN of the machine where the network share is located.
  7. Click Save to create the image repository.
