How to set up Clickatell as the SMS gateway in OpManager
Pre-requisites
Before setting up Clickatell as the SMS gateway for OpManager, make sure that:
- You have a Clickatell communicator / platform account ( You can create a Clickatell account here if you don't have one).
- You have a active internet connection.
- You have enough credits to send SMS.
Steps to setup Clickatell as your SMS gateway
If you have a Clickatell platform account ( Your Clickatell account was created after november 2016):
In Clickatell
- Go to https://www.clickatell.com/sign-in/ and select the Sign In option in the SMS Platform / Touch / Whatsapp tab. Enter your credentials and sign in.
- Select Create new Integration. Select environment type as Production environment and API Type as REST. Click Next.
- Click on the Finish button to complete creating the integration.
- Now you will be redirected back to your console page. Scroll down to see the list of integrations and click on the integration that you created.
- Copy the API Key.
In OpManager
- Go to Settings → General Settings → SMS Server Settings and select Clickatell option in the SMS Gateway tab.
- Select the Account Type as Platform. Paste the API key (copied in the above step) and save the settings.
- If you wish to test if the integration is successful, select Test SMS option and input the test phone number with country code used in the Clickatell account.
- Check the Gateway API response for more information on the status of the SMS.
If you have a Clickatell communicator account (Your Clickatell account was created before November 2016):
In Clickatell
- Go to https://www.clickatell.com/sign-in/ and select the Sign In option in the Communicator tab. Enter your credentials and sign in.
- From the top navigation menu, click on API → Set up a new API.
- Select the HTTP option from the given API types and click on Add HTTP API button.
- Now the API will be created successfully. Copy the created API ID from the highlighted section.
In OpManager
- Go to Settings → General Settings → SMS Server Settings and select Clickatell option in the SMS Gateway tab.
- Select the Account Type as Communicator.
- Enter the user name and password of your clickatell account. Paste the API key (copied in the above step) and save the settings.
- If you wish to test if the integration is successful, select Test SMS option and input the test phone number with country code used in the Clickatell account.
- Check the Gateway API response for more information on the status of the SMS.
