Tele-centre Services Pte Ltd was incorporated in 1999 to provide professional service via innovative contact centre outsourcing. Its clientele base includes government and corporations across a wide array of industries, such as public transportation, telecommunications, banking and finance, retail, insurance, petroleum and information technology (IT).

Business Challenge

Philip Chua, Head of IT at Tele-centre, noticed that not only was it time-consuming for his IT team to respond to password service requests manually, but they also had to manage user accounts on Active Directory (AD) and Exchange, and constantly review network logs to identify suspicious network activities. This abundance of labour-intensive processes often prevented Philip and his IT team from focusing on proactive, strategic, and time-critical projects.

Philip decided to look for solutions to automate these processes for his IT team. After some research, he shortlisted and later implemented ManageEngine AD360 to manage Tele-centre's AD, and ManageEngine EventLog Analyzer to manage its network logs. Philip evaluated alternative products, but chose to work with ManageEngine because Tele-centre was looking for a provider that could help manage its operations holistically, and provide solutions at a reasonable price. He was pleasantly surprised by the cost and capabilities of AD360 and EventLog Analyzer, and the partnership developed with the ManageEngine support team.

How AD360 improved efficiency and productivity

We got in touch with Philip to find out how AD360 has helped his team. He said:

"We have slashed the time taken for AD administration tasks by 50 percent! This allows us to redistribute our manpower resources and manage our IT services efficiently. The audit reporting allows us to review users and administrator activities as part of our IT security management, which was not possible previously without a proper tool."

Addressing which AD360 features he likes the most, Philip observed, "The ability to create AD and Exchange accounts using pre-defined templates." Another feature that ticked the right box in his list is the ability to generate various comprehensive audit reports so his team has visibility on the AD activities of users and administrators.

How EventLog Analyzer improved Tele-centre's firewall security

Philip wanted a tool that could log firewall activities, provide a longer retention of logs, and enable review of these logs. EventLog Analyzer hits the bullseye. Philip noted:

"The information from the firewall logs were presented well in all the pre-defined report templates. This gave us the ability to review the logs to identify any suspicious network activities effectively. In turn, this helped us improve our firewall security."

Asked about changes he witnessed after deploying the solution, Philip said, "EventLog Analyzer gave us a more convenient way to review the network logs. This is extremely helpful, especially when the reviewer is not familiar with navigating the firewall portal. Before this, we were not able to obtain and review the logs effectively. After EventLog Analyzer was implemented, it has become easier to conduct our review."

Philip concluded:

"Your after sales support is excellent. Your help desk is prompt in its response to assist and our problems are usually resolved immediately after a phone call or web session."
