Wallpaper

Android devices come in multiple display pixel densities like LDPI, MDPI, HDPI, XHDPI, XXHDPI, XXXHDPI, etc. You can choose a Custom Wallpaper with a resolution that suits your device display size/screen density. To know more about screen density, click here. For devices running 5.0 or above, Wallpaper is applicable only if devices are provisioned as Device Owner.

  • While creating a wallpaper profile, you can preview the appearance of the wallpaper image on the device and check if it fits the device screen suitably.

  • In case you associate the profile after choosing a Low Screen Density wallpaper alone, the same wallpaper will be distributed to all devices including devices with High Screen Density and vice versa.

  • In case you've configured a wallpaper in Kiosk, it takes precedence over the wallpaper configured in this policy.

Only devices running Android 5.0 or above can be provisioned as Device Owner.

Screen Density in DPI

Screen density is measured in terms of the number of pixels within a given area on the screen in DPI (dots per inch). Lower screen densities such as LDPI, MDPI have fewer pixels within a given area compared to a high-density screen. It is recommended to upload a lower resolution image for devices with lower DPI and a higher resolution image for devices with higher DPI.

  1. It is recommended to associate a single wallpaper profile to a device. In case you want to change the wallpaper, you can modify and re-associate the same profile or remove the profile and then associate a new wallpaper profile to the device.
  2. In case you have associated multiple wallpaper profiles per device, the profile that is last associated is only applied on the device. This profile remains on the device until all the associated wallpaper profiles are removed from the device.
