We use Exchange Online. Does Mobile Device Manager Plus support it? Yes, Mobile Device Manager Plus supports Exchange Online. Under "Exchange ActiveSync" profile, select "Office 360/ Exchange Online" option.
How do you change device name in case of spelling error? To change the device name, navigate to "inventory" and click on the "edit" button next to the device name and change the name.
Is it possible to change user e-mail address? Yes, the user's email address can be changed by selecting the device in "inventory" and under "Actions" choosing "Edit User Details".
What are the other methods of authentication that Mobile Device Manager Plus supports? Mobile Device Manager Plus has three authentication methods
One Time Passcode
Active Directory authentication
Combination of both ( Multi-factor authentication)
Is it possible to apply profiles created for one platform to devices running on another platform? No, the profiles deal with specific device functionalities and are platform dependent. Therefore they cannot be applied to different platforms.
I want to apply different policies as different profiles, is it possible to apply multiple profiles to devices? Yes, multiple profiles can be applied to devices. We recommend applying all account based policies as one profile and the restrictions as separate profile.
What will happen if I apply profiles with contradictory restrictions to devices? For iOS devices, it will choose the most secure profile. Whereas in the case of Android devices, the most recently applied profile will be chosen.
How can we manage iOS devices without a Mac? Apple Configurator is the only enrollment technique that requires a Mac. If you want to manage devices without a Mac, enroll devices using Apple Business Manager (ABM). Other device management features are not dependent on Mac.
Is Apple Business Manager a free or paid service?Apple Business Manager is a free platform that allows organizations to enroll iOS device easily in bulk. The only criteria is that the device that are to be enrolled are purchased from authorised resellers.
What is the use of ME MDM app in the devices?In Android devices, since there is no native MDM client present, an ME MDM app has to be downloaded to manage them. In case of iOS devices, it is not mandatory to download ME MDM app for managing the devices. ME MDM app is requires if we want to use the geo-tracking, remote view, detect Jailbroken devices and to view the content distributed using MDM.
Can devices that have not been purchased from authorised resellers or purchased before DEP account creation be enrolled using DEP?Yes, Mobile Device Manager Plus supports enrollment of iOS 11 devices into the DEP portal even if they are not purchased from authorised resellers. Follow the steps given here to enroll these devices.
How can we restrict the users who can enroll the devices using self enrollment?Mobile Device Manager Plus allows users to enroll their devices using a self-enrollment portal. Admin can restrict the use of this portal to certain groups of users, by selecting the AD groups that can access the self enrollment portal. Only the members of these groups will have access to the portal and will be able to enroll their devices.
Does scanning mobile devices lead to any delays in the device functionality?Scanning mobile devices from the server does not affect the device functionality in any manner.
