Objective : Find and remove inactive AD computers

Solution: ADManager plus allows inactive computers report to be generated and removed manually or through automation.

Steps to remove inactive computers manually

1. Click Reports.
2. Go to Computer Reports , under Account Status Reports section, select Inactive Computers.
3. Select the domain and choose the OU, which is optional. Select the 'Desired Time Period' for which the computers have been inactive.
4. You can choose the Inactive computers report based on Last logon time or Password Last Set in 'More' option. Click 'Generate'.
5. Select the Computer you want to delete and click 'Delete'. Another way to delete the inactive computers in bulk is by More Actions ? Check All ? Action ? Delete Computers.

Steps to remove inactive computers using Automation

1. Click Automation Tab.
2. In Automation, select Create New Automation.
3. Enter a suitable automation name and description in the text box provided.
4. Under Automation Category, select Computer Automation from the drop down list.
5. Select the domain in which you want to run the automation and if necessary, select the OU.
6. Under Automation Category, select 'Delete Computers'. Select 'Implement Business Workflow' if deemed necessary. Please find more information about Business Workflow here.
7. Under Select Objects, choose Inactive Computers in 'From Report' section. Select the 'Desired Time Period' for which the users have been inactive. Add Conditions if necessary to refine results. Click 'OK'.
8. Specify the time/interval at which the task should be run in the 'Execution Time' section. Click 'Save'.
