Established in 1925, The Teachers' Retirement Allowances Fund is the pension plan for public school teachers and other eligible employees in the Province of Manitoba, Canada. It collects contributions from members; manages the investments of the pension plan; and provides retirement, termination, and death benefits to members and their beneficiaries. There are currently over 37,000 members being served with assets totaling over $6.5 billion.
Richard Houston, who oversees network and security operations for the institution, found it difficult to provision his technicians with the necessary access required to carry out day-to-day IT operations and follow up on help desk tickets. Houston realized that he was spending a substantial amount of time ensuring that only the necessary permissions were given to help desk technicians.
