Azure AD
This section allows you to explore all available backups and perform restorations.
Backup Summary
This section allows you to explore all available backups and view how many objects were backed up in each backup cycle.
To explore a particular backup:
- Navigate to Backup → Azure AD → Backup Summary.
- Select the tenant for which you would like to explore backups from the Tenant drop-down box.
- To view any specific backup, use the Filter drop-down box. The result shows the total number of backed up objects and the backup time.
- Click any one of the backups in the chart to view the list of all objects backed up in that cycle. Details such as who triggered the backup process, the date on which the backup was made, the time taken to complete the backup, and the status of the backup are shown on the table directly below.
Restore
This section allows you to restore entire Azure AD objects or individual attributes to a previous backed up state.
To restore any Azure AD object:
- Navigate to Backup → Azure AD → Restore.
- Use one of the two views provided by ADManager Plus to explore the Azure AD objects in each backup:
Snapshot view
The Snapshot view is the default restoration view. When you select a backup point, ADManager Plus displays the values of all the objects at the time of the selected backup point as well as the present values. If an object has undergone multiple changes, you can view all the previous versions with this view. You can either choose to restore a version completely or selectively restore particular attributes.
- Select the tenant that contains the object you want to restore from the Tenant drop-down box.
- Click the icon in the Snapshot field to select a particular backup. In the pop-up that appears, provide the approximate time when the object was modified in the Period field. Once the time period is specified, ADManager Plus lists the total number of backups available from the selected time period.
- To search for any particular object from your backup, click the icon located below Snapshot view.
- You can choose to either restore a version completely or selectively restore particular attributes from a version.
- To restore a version completely, click the check box next to the object name and click Yes.
- To restore individual attributes selectively, click the number in the No. of Backups field corresponding to the object. On the tab that appears, you can view all the changes that the object has undergone and restore each attribute to any of those values.
- Click Restore to complete the restoration process.
Changes view
In the Changes view, the last backup value of an object's attribute is compared with the value in the selected backup, and you can restore the Azure AD object to a previous state instantly.
- Select the tenant that contains the object you want to restore from the Tenant drop-down box.
- Click the Changes view tab at the top.
- Click the icon in the Snapshot field to select a particular backup. In the pop-up that appears, provide the approximate time when the object was modified in the Period field.
- To search for any particular object from your backup, click the icon located below Changes view.
- Select the object you wish to restore.
- You can choose to either restore a version completely or selectively restore particular attributes from a version.
- To restore a version completely, click the check box next to the object name and click Yes.
- To restore individual attributes selectively, click the number in the No. of Property Changes field corresponding to the object and select the attributes you want to restore.
- Click Restore.
