GPO migration
With ADManager Plus, you can migrate the configured GPOs across domains within both inter-forest and intra-forest.
Steps to migrate GPOs using ADManager Plus
- Log in to ADManager Plus and navigate to the Management tab.
- In the left pane, click Migration.
- Under Migration, click GPO Migration.
- Select the domain from which you'd like to migrate GPOs in the Source Domain field.
- Select the GPOs that you'd like to migrate in the Select GPO(s) to be Migrated field.
- In the Target Settings section, choose the Target Domain from the drop-down menu.
- Check the boxes next to the Target OUs in which you want to link the migrated GPO. Then, click OK.
- Under Conflict Handling, select one of the following options to avoid any duplication during migration.
- You have the option to either append or increment the suffix of the conflicted GPO name.
- Do not migrate if conflict is detected: Choose this option if you prefer not to migrate the duplicate GPO.
- Under GPO Options, select how you would like to migrate your GPOs.
- Click Preview to view and edit the list of conflicts and selected GPOs, then click Review to view the final migration list.
- Click Migrate Now to migrate the selected GPOs.
Note: When migrating a GPO from one forest to another, a folder is temporarily created on the migrating domain controllers, which will be automatically deleted after the migration process.
