Setting up Real User Monitoring


This page serves as a guide on the prerequisites for installing the RUM Agent and as an index for the Real User Monitor configuration help pages. Kindly note that there are two different versions of configuring Real User Monitoring, depending on the version of Applications Manager you are using. By following the detailed instructions provided, you can ensure that your RUM Agent is properly installed and configured to effectively capture and analyze user interactions with your web application.

System Requirements

The RUM Agent must be installed on a dedicated Windows / Linux machine - 8 GB RAM. The RUM Agent can work with both the Professional Edition and Enterprise Edition (with Managed Server) of Applications Manager.

The following table shows the recommended configuration of the system to deploy the RUM agent in both the Professional Edition / Plugin Professional Edition and Enterprise Edition / Plugin Enterprise Edition :

Note:
  • Each Applications Manager instance can support upto 20 RUM Agents.
  • On an average, a single RUM Agent can efficiently manage upto 5000 page views per minute i.e. 200 million page views per month. This performance may vary based on the hardware specifications of the hosting server.
