When virtualization first became available, it didn't take long to see the advantages this type of technology had to offer. Microsoft Hyper-V is one of the more widely used hypervisors, and although it may be easy to see the benefits Hyper-V servers provide, the problems that can crop up from improperly monitoring hypervisors may be less obvious at first.
EventLog Analyzer as a Hyper-V auditing tool
EventLog Analyzer is a log management tool that can help you keep a close eye on your Hyper-V servers. One way cybercriminals try to sabotage a company's hypervisor resource is by toying with their internal configurations and the virtual machines (VMs) running on them. EventLog Analyzer helps anticipate these types of situations by automatically collecting logs from Hyper-V servers, analyzing them, generating reports, and sending alerts upon detecting suspicious activity. In addition to more than 15 out-of-the-box reports on Hyper-V servers, EventLog Analyzer also provides a custom report builder.
EventLog Analyzer offers two major groups of reports for auditing your Hyper-V servers.
- Hyper-V server event reports: Report on the internal structure of Hyper-V servers and any changes made in them.
- Hyper-V VM management reports: Report on the VMs that are hosted on Hyper-V servers. You can monitor changes to VMs as well as all activities related to the VM Management Service.
