How to bulk delete users in Entra ID (formerly Azure Active Directory)?

Microsoft 365

Steps to delete users in bulk using Entra ID

Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center and select Microsoft Entra ID.
Select Users > All users > Bulk operations > Bulk delete .
On the Bulk delete user page, select Download to download the latest version of the CSV template.
Open the CSV file and add a line for each user you want to delete. The only required value is User principal name. Save the file.
On the Bulk delete user page, under Upload your csv file, browse and submit your file. Validation of the CSV file will start.
When your file passes validation, select Submit.

M365 Manager Plus

Steps to delete users in bulk using M365 Manager Plus

Navigate to Management tab > Azure Active Directory > User Management.
Under Bulk User Modification , click Delete Users .
Select the M365 tenant using the drop-down.
Select CSV Import and click Browse to import your CSV file containing the users to be deleted.
Click Import User(s) to import data from the CSV file and click Apply .

Limitations of using Entra ID to perform bulk deletion

The user must have at least the Global Administrator role to perform this operation.
