How to restore a deleted Microsoft 365 group in Microsoft Entra ID (previously Azure Active Directory)

When you delete a Microsoft 365 group in Microsofr Entra ID, the deleted group is retained for 30 days from the deletion date. This allows you to restore the group, if needed. The roles and permissions required to restore a group in Microsoft Entra ID are:

Steps to restore a deleted Microsoft 365 group in Microsoft Entra ID.

1. Sign in to Microsoft Entra ID as at least Groups Administrator.
2. Select Groups > All groups > Deleted groups to view all the deleted groups that can be restored.
3. Select Restore in the Deleted groups page to restore the group and its contents.
4. You can also permanently delete the group using the Delete permanently option.

Note: You need to be an administrator to remove a group permanently.
