Configuring Data Leakage Prevention

Data Leakage Prevention helps to avoid sensitive information from being inadvertently shared through the browser. It blocks actions like uploading confidential files to websites, capturing screenshots, or transmitting crash reports to external parties. This document will explain how to create the policy and about each configuration provided by Endpoint Central.

Kindly follow the steps given below to successfully create and deploy Data Leakage Prevention policy:

  1. Open Endpoint Central console and navigate to Browsers -> Policies -> Data Leakage Prevention.
  2. Click Create Policy and select the OS platform.
  3. Give a name for the policy.
  4. Refer below to know more about the Data Leakage Prevention settings.
  5. Click Save to save the policy as draft. Click Save & Publish to save the policy.
  6. Associate the policy to computers/groups of computers in which you want the isolation of web-applications to take place.

This document will explain each configuration under Data Leakage Prevention provided by Endpoint Central and the browsers it is applicable for.

Configuration Description Supported browsers
Print webpage By disabling this, users will not be able to print web pages. Google Chrome, Microsoft edge
Print from cloud storage By disabling this, users will not be able to access Google cloud print. Google Chrome, Microsoft edge
Automatic browser sync By disabling this, users will not be able to sync apps, themes, bookmarks, passwords, settings etc. between browser accounts with cloud account. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox and other Chromium-based browsers
Save browser history By disabling this, browser history will not be remembered. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Mozilla Firefox, and other Chromium-based browsers
Autofill By disabling this, data entered in websites will not be remembered. eg., Address entered in one site will not automatically get filled in another site. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Microsoft Internet Explorer, and Other Chromium-based browsers
File upload to webpages By disabling this, data entered in websites will not be remembered. eg., Address entered in one site will not automatically get filled in another site. Google Chrome, Microsoft edge, and other Chromium-based browsers
Capture screenshots By disabling this, users will not be able to capture screenshots. Google Chrome, Microsoft edge
Remember passwords By disabling this, passwords of accounts will not be saved by the browsers. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Internet Explorer, Mozilla Firefox, and Other Chromium-based browsers
Site per process Is this configuration is enabled, each domain will be opened as a new instance. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers
Search Suggestions Is this configuration is disabled, automatic suggestions as text is typed in the search bar, will be disabled. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers
Metrics reporting to google My selecting disable, telemetry reporting will not be sent to Google. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge
Prompt for download location By selecting disable, prompt for storing downloads in a specific folder, will not be displayed to users. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge
Browser history deletion By choosing disable, users will not be able to delete browser history. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge and other Chromium-based browsers
Background processing By selecting disable, background processing will be disabled. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers
Network Prediction By selecting disable, network prediction will be turned off, which would increase the time taken to load webpages. Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and other Chromium-based browsers
Third Party Cookies Selecting 'never allow' will block all third party cookies. Mozilla Firefox
