How to create an image repository?
The prerequisites for creating and deploying an image using OS Deployer involve creating two repositories: an image repository and a driver repository. As the name indicates, the images created using online and offline imaging processes are stored in the image repository.
OS Deployer follows a similar process for creating an image repository as well as a driver repository. The steps in this document can be used to create an image repository in the following scenarios:
- To create an image repository by clicking the image repository tab from the side panel.
- To create an image repository during the image creation process.
Steps to create an image repository
Fill in the following details to configure the image repository for any of the above-mentioned scenarios.
- Image repository name: The name of the image repository that is being configured. This name cannot be changed later.
- Remote Office: The remote office that is to be associated with the image repository.
- Share Path: The UNC (Universal Naming Convention) path of a network share that is already configured. This path must have "Read" access for everyone, and "Write" access for the following credential.
- Credential: This User credential must have "Read" and "Write" access to the machine where the image repository is located..
- IP Address (Optional): The IP address of the machine where the network share is located.
- FQDN (Optional): The FQDN of the machine where the network share is located.
- Click Save to create the image repository.
