Recording Remote Sessions
Remote Access Plus comes with the capability to let you carefully supervise your remote sessions by recording them.
Why should you record remote sessions?
- Recording your sessions will let you keep track of absolutely everything that happens during a remote session.
- The recorded files makes auditing effortless.
- Certain troubleshooting operations are tricky and may involve a lot of steps. These recorded files can serve as training materials.
How to enable screen recording?
- From your Remote Access Plus web console, navigate to Tools tab -> Remote Control -> Screen Recording.
- Enable Screen Recording option must be checked.
- Select the compressor and decompressor format for the video. If the selected Codec is not available on the remote computer, the default codec will be used.
- Specify the number of Frames per second. A higher frame rate results in smoother visuals but increases video size. For auditing purposes, using the default value is recommended.
- Select the color quality, i.e., the number of bits used per pixel. Higher color quality gives more depth but also increases the video file size.
- Specify the Maximum Storage size for recorded videos. Older files will be deleted automatically when the limit is exceeded.
- Define the action to be taken if disk space runs out during a session — either stop recording and continue or disconnect the session.
- To restrict access, enable the checkbox that requires Remote Access Plus server credentials before downloading videos.
- If you want to notify users that the session is being recorded, check Enable User Notification, specify the notification message, and save.
You have now successfully configured the settings to record every remote control session.
