Site collection audit settings

Follow the below steps to Enable audit settings for multiple site collections.

  • Select Site Collections

    Select the farm whose site collections need to be audited. To select site collections of the farm, click Select site collection(s) under the farm's name. It'll pop-open a window that lists all site collections. Search site collections by name using the search bar provided. To search up site collections using web applications as reference, you can switch to tree view by clicking the tree view icon at the right top corner of the window.

    From that list, tick the boxes against the web application or site collections as per your need and click Select at the bottom of the window.

  • Select Events for Auditing

    There are two sections here:

    • Documents and Items
    • Lists, Libraries and Sites

    A set of audit events are mentioned for each section. Select the events that you desire to audit for each section by ticking the box against the event's name.

  • Select Yes or No to trim the audit log the selected sites.
  • Specify the number of days to retain the audit log in the field provided.
  • Click Apply at the bottom of the page that directs to a Result Summary page which gives the summary of the result of the operations performed.
