How to delete a tenant in Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD) using the Microsoft Entra admin center

All resources in the organization (tenant) will get deleted when an organization is deleted in Microsoft Entra ID. Prepare your organization by minimizing the resources associated with the tenant before deletion.Only a Global Administrator has the authority to delete a Microsoft Entra organization through the Microsoft Entra admin center.

To delete a tenant,

1. Sign in to the Microsoft Entra admin center with credentials of a Global Administrator.
2. Choose Microsoft Entra ID.
3. In the tenant's Overview page, click Manage tenants.
4. Select the checkbox for the tenant that you would like to delete, and click Delete.
5. If any of the checks fail for your organization, you will receive a link with further information on how to address those issues. Once all checks have been successfully passed, you can proceed by selecting Delete to finalize the process.
