How to change the branding of clutter notifications in Exchange Online

Clutter is an Microsoft 365 feature that moves low priority emails to a separate Clutter folder. It uses Inbox notifications to invite users and to send status messages.The default branding used for these notifications is Outlook, but you can modify it to suit or represent your organization.

You can change the branding of clutter notifications in Exchange Online using the Exchange Admin Center (EAC).

  1. Create a user mailbox using the steps mentioned here.
  2. Log on to EAC and navigate to Recipients > Mailboxes.
  3. Select the user you created.
  4. Navigate to Mailbox Settings > Email Addresses > Manage Email address types and click Add email address type
  5. Select SMTP as the email address type,
  6. In the Email address:* box, type the following: 7a694ec2-b7c9-41eb-b562-08fd2b277ae0@<domainname>, where <domainname> refersto the domain that your organization uses
  7. Click Ok and then click Save to confirm your changes.
