Steps to create or update a new allow or block list policy for groups in Exchange Online using Exchange Online PowerShellC

  1. Download the Script for Allow/Block policy( Set-GuestAllowBlockDomainPolicy.ps1) for Allow/Block policy at Microsoft Download Center.
  2. Run the following command to create an allow list:
    Set-GuestAllowBlockDomainPolicy.ps1 -Update -AllowList @("<domainname>")

  3. Run the following command to create a block list:
    Set-GuestAllowBlockDomainPolicy.ps1 -Update -BlockList @("<domainname>")

  4. <domainname> here refers to the guest domain for which you are managing access to Microsoft 365 groups in your organization.

Steps to add more domains to existing allow or block lists using Exchange Online PowerShell

  1. Download the Script for Allow/Block policy ( Set-GuestAllowBlockDomainPolicy.ps1) for Allow/Block policy at Microsoft Download Center.
  2. Run the following command to add more domains to an allow list: Set-GuestAllowBlockDomainPolicy.ps1 -Append -AllowList @("<domainname>")
  3. Run the following command to add more domains to a block list: Set-GuestAllowBlockDomainPolicy.ps1 -Append -BlockList @("<domainname>")
  4. <domainname> here refers to the guest domain for which you are managing access to Microsoft 365 groups in your organization.
