You are unable to view the phone number of a device from the MDM server and see the error message Phone number is not detected.
You will get the error message Phone number is not detected due to the following reasons:
Verify the following details to resolve the Phone number is not detected issue:
Ensure that there is a valid SIM card installed on the device. Also, ensure it's not an iPad without a SIM card.
In case the phone number status is Unknown on Android or iOS devices, MDM cannot fetch and display the phone number on the server. Follow the steps mentioned below to verify if the phone number is available on the device.
Navigate to Settings -> About Phone -> Status on your Android device. Ensure that the status displayed is not Unknown, and your phone number is visible there. Else, MDM cannot fetch the phone number on the device.
NOTE: In some cases, MDM cannot fetch the phone number if the phone number is not written internally in SIM card. This is dependent on the SIM manufacturers.
To resolve the Phone number is not detected issue on iOS devices, verify whether the phone number is available on the device by following the steps given below:
