How Network Configuration Manager adds value to OpManager

Network Configuration Manager enhances your network performance by quickly spotting and resolving underlying configuration issues. Combining it with OpManager creates a complete network monitoring and configuration management system for your entire enterprise IT infrastructure, all on a single console. Using Network Configuration Manager as an add-on to OpManager, you can:

Minimize downtime with configuration backup and restore

With Network Configuration Manager, you can schedule backup configurations or initiate backups on demand. This helps you to quickly restore trusted configuration versions during an outage and minimizes network device downtime.

Automate changes in multiple network devices

By executing automated command scripts known as Configlets, you can make changes in configurations and push configurations across multiple network devices to save time and manual effort.

Track network changes in real time and avoid errors

Receive real-time alerts via email when someone makes a change in the configurations of your network devices. Upon receiving the notification, you can immediately check what the change was, when it was made, and by whom.

Ensure your network adheres to internal policies and industry standards

With Network Configuration Manager, you can make sure your network is compliant with internal and industry standards like HIPAA, SOX, PCI DSS, etc. You can apply compliance policies in multiple network devices and scan them for compliance and violations.

Control who can access configurations by assigning roles

Using role-based access control (RBAC), you can assign and restrict configuration access to your critical network devices. Unless the admin reviews and approves a change, changes made by the restricted users will not be reflected in the configurations.

Analyze and troubleshoot network problems with holistic reports

Network Configuration Manager provides reports on configuration changes, hardware details, user access, compliance, firmware and device inventory, and more to help quickly troubleshoot your network whenever a problem arises.

Keep your devices protected from firmware vulnerabilities

Network Configuration Manager receives daily updates on vulnerability information from NIST and other leading vendors. It identifies vulnerable devices, providing details such as CVE ID, severity level, base score, and links to patches.

Leverage REST API based configuration management

Users can concentrate on specific configuration aspects without the need to navigate command syntax or configuration hierarchies. REST API support is provided for Fortigate, Paloalto, Aruba, and Checkpoint. We are working on providing support for other vendors as well.
