ManageEngine’s FacilitiesDesk Software Increases Visibility and Control of Asset and Maintenance Management

Unique Features Designed to Support Inventory Management and Meter Based Preventive Maintenance in Large Enterprises

AUSTIN, TX, November 11, 2008

ManageEngine, makers of a globally renowned suite of cost effective facility, network, systems and security management software solutions, today announced an upgraded version of its integrated FacilitiesDesk software, a highly-comprehensive facility and maintenance management application.

The new version features a number of additional capabilities that are particularly valuable in large facility infrastructures.  For example, FacilitiesDesk now tracks asset utilization based on meter readings. When assets reach pre-defined meter levels, an alert is automatically generated, at which time preventive maintenance is performed, ensuring the asset continues to operate well, increasing the return on investment. Work orders are reported in real-time, providing up- to- the-minute visibility into scheduled upkeep and maintenance.  A new inventory management feature monitors component stock levels, triggering an alert and automatically generating a purchase order when stock depletes to a pre-defined level.

"We have found ManageEngine FacilitiesDesk to be the most user-friendly and capable facility management software and it's been very valuable here at our corporate campus," said Joe Freeman, Facility and Maintenance Manager, Million Air Dallas. "The software was easy to set-up and it continues to aid in making our staff more efficient and improving our asset control, which saves us money. I would highly recommend FacilitiesDesk to anyone starting their first facility software implementation or in need of a good, sound facility management and work order system at an extremely competitive price."

"FacilitiesDesk is designed to provide immediate value to facilities and maintenance managers who need an efficient solution to the everyday challenges they encounter," said Anand Raman, product manager, ManageEngine FacilitiesDesk. "This new software is intended to offer the sophistication necessary to take on the largest environments while at the same time being easy-to-install and easy to use."

FacilitiesDesk is able to manage tens of thousands of assets and properties; track purchase orders, contracts and work orders.  ManageEngine FacilitiesDesk Portfolio Management feature allows users to manage facilities across multiple regions; while Maintenance Management functionality tracks preventive maintenance (Proactive maintenance or schedule maintenance) and breakdown maintenance (Reactive maintenance) in a systematic way, allowing production teams to plan their work accordingly. The application’s reporting engine generates custom reports identifying maintenance requests that are open, closed or overdue; naming individuals or departments responsible for the majority of requests; and listing which staff member is responsible for attending to specific requests.

The new edition of ManageEngine FacilitiesDesk can be downloaded directly from the company’s website, www.facilitiesdesk.com. A fully functional 30-day trial version is available for evaluation.
