PLEASANTON, Calif. — December 17, 2013 — ManageEngine, the real-time IT management company, today announced the launch of the ADSelfService Plus Android app, a free Android app for enterprises running the company's self-service password management solution, ADSelfService Plus. The native Android app lets end users easily reset their passwords and unlock their accounts using just their Android smartphones and tablets from anywhere, anytime - without help desk assistance. The ADSelfService Plus Android app is available on the Google Play store at http://ow.ly/rOLb4. The company also recently announced that ADSelfService Plus now supports self-service management of passwords across select cloud-based applications.
"With nearly 30 percent of all calls to the help desk being password related, the cost and productivity loss associated with forgotten passwords and locked-out accounts has become a huge burden on many organizations," said Manikandan Thangaraj, director of product development, ManageEngine. "With ADSelfService Plus, end users can reset their passwords and regain lost access on their own - all this from the convenience of their mobile devices."
ADSelfService Plus for Android
The password reset process in the ADSelfService Plus Android app is highly secure. Users must answer a set of challenge questions and/or complete the SMS- or email-based PIN code verification before they can continue the reset process. The answers to challenge questions and the user's mobile number and email ID are collected through a one-time enrollment process. Users can enroll for password self-service using the app itself.
With the launch of this app, ADSelfService Plus is now available on both iOS and Android platforms. ADSelfService Plus can also be accessed from other mobile platforms such as Windows Phone and Blackberry as well as through its mobile web app.
In addition to the Android app, ADSelfService Plus offers users self-service password management for various cloud-based applications including Google Apps, Office 365, Salesforce.com and Zoho. Password self-service support for on-premise systems such as IBM iSeries (AS/400), HP UX, Oracle Database and Oracle E-Business suite is already available.
ADSelfService Plus can be configured to synchronize Windows Active Directory passwords with the aforementioned cloud-based applications and on-premise systems. In turn, IT admins can enforce the domain password policy rules of Windows Active Directory - or their own corporate password policy - in cloud applications and non-Windows systems, thus standardizing the security requirements of a password in a hybrid IT environment. Meanwhile, end users no longer need to remember multiple passwords.
Pricing and Availability
The ADSelfService Plus Android app is available on the Google Play store at http://ow.ly/rOLb4. In addition to a fully functional, 30-day evaluation edition, ADSelfService Plus is available as a Free Edition, Standard Edition and Professional Edition. Standard Edition prices start at $595 per year for 500 users. Professional Edition prices start at $995 per year for 500 users.
