AdventNet Upgrades QEngine with Support for Geographically Distributed Test Automation

Enables QA Professionals and Test Automation Engineers to Perform all Aspects of Testing across Geographic Locations

Pleasanton, California, Nov. 21, 2006

AdventNet, Inc., the leading provider of affordable network and systems management software for enterprises, equipment vendors, and service providers, today announced the release of QEngine 6.6, a cost-effective, extensible and complete web-based test automation tool for functional, performance, web services and regression testing of web applications/web services. The software helps QA professionals and test automation engineers to improve productivity and save significant time and resources, when compared to manual testing.

QEngine is an enterprise class software that provides a client-server architecture to test from any location with just a browser and QEngine Toolbar installed at the client end. QEngine Server provides a uniform and centralized web-based console to all the users connected via a toolbar to create, modify, schedule tests, analyze test results and manage defects and issues. Thus enabling seamless transfer of knowledge, and test case data.

Key Features in AdventNet QEngine:

  • Geographically distributed test development against traditional setting of a standalone development.
  • Central Storage of scripts and results on the server offers in-built repository capability and allows parallel testing by multiple team members.
  • Multi-platform support to record scripts in Windows and replay it in Linux without re-creating the scripts.
  • Browser Compatibility Tests to record in one browser and verify application compatibility against multiple browsers such as: Internet Explorer, Firefox/ Mozilla.
  • Generic database interface enables users to test multiple databases including MySQL, Oracle, SQL Server, etc without changing the scripts.

"Nice powerful product, I chose it because it was the only product that had the ability to perform some actions required in my test scenarios. I particularly appreciated the quick reactivity of the support team to provide explanations or even patches implementing needed features or correcting defects, said"- Mr. Mangold Thibault, Esker Document Delivery.

"We used AdventNet QEngine to test a German Web application. Our experience with the product was very positive, as it was easy to learn for everybody in our company and very fast and efficient to use,” said Mr.Bernd Walter, zetVisions AG.

"Today one of the major challenge faced by QA professionals and Test Automation Engineers is to provide improved collaboration and management of test assets in a distributed environment, where the development and QA team members are spread across geographic locations. The latest version of QEngine is well equipped to handle this challenge through its distributed test development" said K. Shyamala, Product Manager for QEngine at AdventNet. "In addition, Regression setup time is now in the order of seconds as the QEngine Toolbar is the only software required on the machines involved in regression" she added.
