1. Prerequisites
The following elements are essential for the proper functioning of the Access Manager Plus server:
- A mail server (SMTP server) for the functioning of Access Manager Plus server and to send various notifications to users.
- Microsoft .NET framework.
- Visual C++ Redistributable for Visual Studio 2015 and above.
- Access Manager Plus comes with a self-signed certificate by default. We recommended you to replace it with an internally signed certificate or a certificate from a third-party CA.

Access Manager Plus comprises of the following components:
- The Access Manager Plus server.
- The database PostgreSQL 10.18:
- bundled with Access Manager Plus that runs as a separate process.
- that accepts connections only from the host where it is running.
- that runs in an invisible mode.

5. User Roles and Licensing
5.1 User Roles
Access Manage Plus comes with two user roles:
Licensing restricts the number of users as a whole, which includes Administrators and User. To get more details on the user roles, click here.
5.2 License Types
There are two license types:
- Free Edition: Licensed software that allows you to have 2 users with limited set of features. Valid forever.
- Standard Edition: The registered version with licensing is based on the number of users, irrespective of roles. It comes with additional enterprise-class features such as TFA, Landing Servers for RDP/SSH, Session Collaboration, etc.
