What are audit system events?
Audit system events is a security policy setting, which when enabled, audits when a user restarts or shuts down the computer or when an event that affects either the security log or the system security occurs.
You can choose to audit successes, audit failures, or not audit the event type at all. Success audit entries are generated when a logon attempt is successful whereas failure audit entries are generated when a logon attempt is not successful. To set this value to No auditing, select the Define these policy settings check box in the Properties dialog box for this policy setting, and deselect the Success and Failure check boxes.
This setting can be accessed by navigating to Computer Configuration > Windows Settings > Security Settings > Local Policies > Audit Policy.
