How to enforce GPOs using ADManager Plus

Enforcing Group Policy Objects (GPOs) is essential for ensuring consistency and security across a Windows network. When a GPO is enforced, configurations of the enforced GPO takes precedence over those defined in other GPOs at the same level. In an environment where multiple GPOs are configured, enforcing GPOs also addresses the issue of conflicting policies and helps administrators ensure that certain policies take precedence over others. Using ADManager Plus, administrators can easily:

• Link GPOs.
• Enable or disable GPO links.
• Remove GPO links.
• Enforce GPO links.
• Block or unblock inheritance.
• Copy GPO links.

Steps to enforce GPOs using ADManager Plus

1. Log in to ADManager Plus and navigate to the Management tab.
2. In the left pane, click GPO Management.
3. Under GPO Management, click Manage GPOs Links.
4. To link a new GPO:
• Click + New GPO Links.
• In the pop-up, select the objects that you would like to link as well as the desired GPOs and click Link GPO.

Note: If you would like to copy GPO links from an existing GPO, click the Copy GPO Links option and select the desired objects.

5. If you would like to modify GPO links, select the desired GPOs, click Manage, and select the desired option from the drop-down menu. For instance, if you would would like to remove GPO links from multiple GPOs, select Remove GPO Links.
6. To enforce a GPO, in the Actions column of the GPO, click the enforce icon.
