How to create mailboxes in bulk for Active Directory users?

Objective: Create an Exchange mailbox using ADManager Plus.

ADManager plus allows you to provision Exchange mailboxes for Active Directory accounts from a single console without the need to rely on the Exchange Management Console (EMC).

Steps to create an Exchange mailbox manually

• Logon to ADManager Plus.
• Go to Management → User Management → Bulk User Modification.
• Under Exchange Tasks, click Create/Archive User Mailbox.
• Select the desired mail alias name format from the drop down list.
• Select the preferred Exchange server and mailbox store from the drop down list.
• Enable the option to create user mailbox and enable archive mailbox, if necessary.
• You can either search for the users by entering their names or import them using a CSV file.
• Select the preferred user accounts and click Apply.

Exchange mailboxes will be created for the selected user accounts.

Steps to create an Exchange mailbox automatically

• Logon to ADManager Plus.
• Click the Automation tab.
• Select Create New Automation.
• Enter a suitable automation name and description. Choose the domain from the drop down list.
• Set User Automation as the category.
• Under Automation Task/Policy, select Create Mailbox from the drop down list.
• Choose the mailbox server and store from the drop down list.
• In "Select objects" section, select any report (for example, recently created users) which will function as the input in this automation. You can also choose to upload a CSV file containing the user details by providing the location of the CSV file in the given field.
• Specify the time and interval at which this task is to be executed. Enable SMS or/and Email notification, if necessary.
• Click Save.

Once the automation is executed, mailboxes will be created for the user accounts.
