APEC University was founded in 1965 under the name "Instituto de Estudios Superiores" (Institute of Higher Studies). This private university is located in Santo Domingo, the Dominican Republic. In 1968, the government granted APEC accreditation as a university with the right to award higher education degrees. The university changed its name to APEC University on August 1983.
