  • How is ADManager Plus licensed?

    ADManager Plus is licensed based on the number of domains, the number of help desk technicians, and the edition.

  • Who is a help desk technician?

    A help desk technician is a person who is authorized to perform the management operations delegated by the administrator. These operations can deviate from regular end-user functions, designed to increase productivity and reduce the workload of administrators.

  • Is the technician license a named license or a concurrent license?

    In ADManager Plus, the technician license is named. A technician license will be consumed when a user account is configured in the product.

  • What are the types of subscriptions available in ADManager Plus?

    ADManager Plus has two types of subscriptions plans: annual and perpetual.

  • What is the difference between the annual and perpetual subscription models of ADManager Plus?

    The annual subscription model includes a yearly renewal of the license fee, which is inclusive of the annual maintenance and support (AMS), to keep the product up and running. In the perpetual subscription model, the license fee is one-time and permanent, but the AMS must be renewed on a yearly basis. The annual and perpetual subscription models apply to both the Standard and Professional editions of ADManager Plus.

    In the perpetual subscription model, the AMS fee is included in the license fee for the first year. You can also pay the support fee for more than one year while purchasing the perpetual license.

    The yearly AMS fee payment in the perpetual subscription model also includes the AMS fees for add-ons, if you have purchased any. For the annual subscription model, however, these AMS fees for add-ons do not apply because the yearly license renewal fee includes the add-on fees as well.

  • What services are included in the annual maintenance and support (AMS) fee?

    ADManager Plus' AMS fee includes phone, email, and instant live chat support, as well as service packs, bug fixes, minor updates, and major upgrades for any edition of ADManager Plus.

  • Can I purchase licenses for any particular feature of ADManager Plus' editions or add-ons instead of the whole package?

    As ADManager Plus follows a global licensing model and not a feature-based one, it is not possible to purchase licenses for a specific feature. For instance, you must acquire ADManager Plus' Standard or Professional edition as a whole, even if Bulk User Creation is your only requirement among all the features offered in that particular ADManager Plus edition.

  • Can I purchase a consolidated license for an AD forest?

    ADManager Plus is licensed based on the number of domains to be managed. Hence, It is required to buy licenses for individual domains you need to manage in a forest.

  • Is it necessary to purchase separate licenses for child domains?

    Yes, it is necessary to purchase separate licenses for child domains.

  • I have a domain spread over geographical locations, can I purchase one license and use it on all locations?

    A purchased license can be installed on only one machine, making it impossible to use the license across multiple locations.

  • What differentiates ADManager Plus' Professional edition from the Standard edition?

    The Standard and Professional editions of ADManager Plus differ in terms of features and pricing. The Standard edition includes extensive reports, object management capabilities, M365 management, and more. On the other hand, the Professional edition not only provides all the features of the Standard edition but also offers secure task delegation, controlled automation, workflow capabilities, integrations with most HCM/HRMS solutions, and advanced features to streamline your Active Directory.

  • What is ADManager Plus' Evaluation edition, and what does it offer?

    ADManager Plus' Evaluation edition provides unrestricted access to the Professional edition for a 30-day period. This includes the ability to manage an unlimited number of objects in two domains, delegate tasks to two help desk technicians, and generate reports on all objects.   • What is the difference between ADManager Plus' Evaluation edition and Free edition?

    ADManager Plus' Evaluation edition offers unrestricted access to Professional edition for 30 days, while the Free edition provides only the Standard edition features, and the number of AD objects is limited to 100. Both editions are free of cost. The Evaluation edition gets converted to the Free edition 30 days after installation.

  • What does the Backup and Recovery add-on offer?

    It offers backup and restoration capabilities for AD, Azure AD, and Google Workspace objects. It helps protect your data in case of accidental deletion, modification, or any other incident.

    The Backup and Recovery add-on is licensed based on the number of enabled AD, Azure AD, and Google Workspace user objects you wish to back up, and it remains consistent for both Standard and Professional editions. For example, if you've purchased the add-on for 500 users, you can back up 500 enabled AD, Azure AD and Google Workspace users each. The pricing details of ADManager Plus' add-ons can be found here.

  • I have not purchased the Backup and Recovery add-on. Will I still be able to back up my AD, Azure AD, and Google Workspace users?

    For AD and Azure AD, you can still back up all objects, but there are a few limitations. You will not be able to perform full backups, perform bulk object restorations, enable backups for more than one domain, edit backup settings, manually trigger incremental backups, or run full backups on a daily basis (you can only run backups weekly). In Google Workspace, backup is limited to five users.

  • What does the Governance, Risk and Compliance add-on offer?

    This add-on comes with identity risk assessment and access certification campaigns. The identity risk assessment report provides a risk score based on NIST SP 800-30 guidelines, and identifies potential vulnerabilities and threats to your system, as well as providing strategies for remediation to help secure the system.

  • Do I get the add-ons by default when I purchase an edition of ADManager Plus?

  • Do I need to have a particular edition of ADManager Plus to purchase an add-on?

    You can purchase the Backup and Recovery add-on either with either the Standard or Professional edition of ADManager Plus while Governance, Risk and Compliance Add-On can be purchased only with the Professional edition of ADManager Plus.

  • Are the add-ons' features included in the 30-day trial of the Evaluation edition of ADManager Plus?

    Yes, the features for each add-ons are included in the 30-day trial of the Evaluation edition. The Evaluation edition offers unrestricted access to the Professional edition of the product.
