Endpoint Central (formerly Desktop Central) Cloud Agent Upgrade
This document explains the process of Endpoint Central Cloud Agent Upgrade.
What happens during an Agent Upgrade?
- During an Agent upgrade, the agent and the distribution server binaries with the latest fixes or enhancements are pushed to the Endpoint Central server.
- Agent binaries will be between 21 and 25 MB in size, while Distribution Server binaries will be between 15 and 20 MB in size.
- Roaming agents and Agents under Distribution Server will check for updates with the Endpoint Central server every 90 minutes.
- In presence of a distribution Server, it will contact the endpoint central server based on the replication policy configured.
- The binaries will be downloaded from the Distribution Server by the agents.
- If a new agent or Distribution Server version is available, roaming agents and Distribution Server will download it directly from the Zoho CDN.
- If an unexpected failure occurs during the upgrade, the scheduler on your agent machine will run every 60 minutes until the upgrade is completed.
- Users are requested to whitelist the domains given in this list for a seamless agent upgrade.
How to check if the upgrade is completed?
- The current version of the agent is available on the SoM summary page. Navigate to Agent > Summary > Agent Version.
- The version can also be checked manually from the SoM computers page.
- You can also view the "Agent upgraded" message in the Event Log Viewer.
