Problem

You are trying to install patches on your network computers. However, the installation fails with one of the following error messages,

  • Error Code:-2145124343
  • Another installation is already in progress. Complete that installation before proceeding with this install.
  • Another conflicting operation was in progress. Some operations such as installation cannot be performed twice simultaneously.
  • The process cannot access the file because it is being used by another process.

Cause

The possible reason could be either the User has initiated another installation manually or Windows update might be installing some other updates.

Resolution

  • We recommend you to retry the deployment after some time.
  • If the above resolution doesn't work, then restart the system and retry the deployment.
  • If restarting the system doesn't work too, then try running our Component store cleanup patch and retry the deployment.
  • If you get the 'Installation failed' message again, even after following the above-mentioned resolutions, please Contact Support with the agent log files for further assistance.
