5056: WAS event WMS site root application invalid error
The IIS World Wide Web Publishing Service is responsible for managing the HTTP protocol and HTTP performance counters. An IIS web site is a unique collection of web pages and web applications that is hosted on an IIS web server.
Event 5056 is generated when a particular site was disabled because the root application defined for the site is invalid. The site is specified in the event log message.
How could you resolve this situation?
If the application path of a web site is incorrect, the site will not start. Hence, set a valid application path and restart the site.
