ADSelfService Plus can notify admins via email when it starts up or stops running due to service stoppage or when someone shuts it down for maintenance. With this notification, you can stay informed about the status of the service, and if necessary, can immediately take corrective actions to get ADSelfService Plus up and running. This will help users access their protected resources, enterprise apps, and self-service actions without major interruptions.

Configure startup and downtime email notifications in ADSelfService Plus using the steps below.

Prerequisite

  • SMTP mail server settings should be set up in ADSelfService Plus. Click here to learn how to configure this.

Configuration steps

  • Log into ADSelfService Plus from an account with the super admin role enabled.
  • Navigate to Admin > Product Settings > Mail/SMS Settings > Mail Settings.
  • In the Admin Mail Address field under the Configure Mail Server section, enter the email address of the user to whom the notifications should be sent. If you want to send the notification to multiple users, use a comma as a delimiter between each email address.
  • Under the Notification Settings section, select the Enable Startup and Downtime Notification option.

  • Click Save Settings.

Once done, the email addresses entered in the Admin Mail Address field will receive a notification when the ADSelfService Plus service starts up, is interrupted, or experiences downtime.
