No, it is not required to add the product type if the mobile phone product type already exists in your ServiceDesk Plus instance. If the imported product type is not present in your instance, then a new product type called Phone needs to be created.
The purchase details of an asset can be calculated from within the purchase module. Once the asset is purchased, the cost and the financial details will be present in the purchase module.
