Remote Control Settings

With Remote Access Plus, you can configure various remote control settings to suit your needs. Following are the steps to follow to configure Remote Control Settings.

General Settings

  1. From your Remote Access Plus web console, navigate to Tools tab -> Remote Control -> Settings.
  2. Notify end users about remote connection: Notify end-users when a remote session is initiated.
  3. Quick Launch: Enables quick access to tools like command prompt, device manager, and more during a remote session.
  4. Disable Wallpaper: Hides the user's wallpaper during a remote session (not supported on Mac).
  5. Blacken Monitor for Remote Computer: Hides screen activity from the end user (not supported on Mac).
  6. Disable the keyboard and mouse of end user’s computer: Locks user input during remote administration (not supported on Mac).
  7. Capture Alpha Blending: Captures transparent windows (not supported on Mac).
  8. Log the reason for remote connection: Prompts technicians to log a reason when initiating a session.
  9. View-only mode: Restricts remote session to viewing only, without control.
  10. Hide Remote Cursor: Hides the technician’s mouse movements on the client computer.

Performance Settings

  1. Compression Settingsincludes the following options:
    • Fast – Faster rendering with lower compression, uses more bandwidth.
    • Best – Optimized for bandwidth usage with higher compression and slower rendering.
  2. Color-Quality Settings: Adjusting color quality helps reduce bandwidth usage during a remote session.

Idle Session Settings

You can enhance the security of remote control feature by using idle session time out feature. When no actions are performed on the remote computer, the session is said be 'idle'. You can specify a maximum time limit for the remote session to be idle. When the idle time limit exceeds the specified time, you can choose to disconnect the session and lock the remote machine automatically.
