1. Grant Permissions
Follow the below steps to grant permissions for any number of groups or users to access multiple site collections.
Select the farm whose site collections need permissions. To select site collections of the farm, click Select site collection(s) under the farm's name. It'll pop-open a window that lists all site collections. Search site collections by name using the search bar provided. To search up site collections using web applications as reference, you can switch to tree view by clicking the tree view icon at the right top corner of the window.
From that list, check the boxes against the web application or site collections as per your need and click Select at the bottom of the window.
Click on to select users or groups. It'll pop-open the People Picker window, where you can look up
the name of the user or group that needs access to the selected site collections, using the search bar.
Click Advanced to narrow down search options;to reflect only SharePoint groups in the search results, enable SharePoint Groups by ticking the box against it. Likewise, you can enable Domain users too.
After selecting the desired users or groups by ticking the box against their names, click Select at the bottom of the window.
Under Permission levels, there are:
You can add custom permission levels too. Click Load Custom Permission Levels to list them.
To grant one or more permissions levels, tick the box(es) against the desired choice(s).
Under Assign permissions to, there are:
To apply permissions for these objects under every site collection, tick the box against your choice(s).
2. Remove Permissions
Follow the below steps to revoke permissions for SharePoint User or Group from accessing any number of site collections.
Select the farm whose site collections' access needs to be revoked. To select site collections of the farm, click Select site collection(s) under the farm's name. It'll pop-open a window that lists all site collections. Search site collections by name using the search bar provided. To search up site collections using web applications as reference, you can switch to tree view by clicking the tree view icon at the right top corner of the window.
From that list, tick the boxes against the web application or site collections as per your need and click Select at the bottom of the window.
Click on to select users or groups. It'll pop-open the People Picker window, where you can look up
the name of the user or group whose permissions need to be revoked, using the search bar.
Click Advanced to narrow down search options;to reflect only SharePoint groups in the search results, enable SharePoint Groups by ticking the box against it. Likewise, you can enable Domain users too.
After selecting the desired users or groups by ticking the box against their names, click Select at the bottom of the window.
Under Permission levels, there are:
You can remove custom permission levels too. Click Load Custom Permission Levels to list them.
To revoke all permissions, tick the box against All. To revoke specific permissions levels, tick the box(es) against the desired choice(s).
Under Remove Permissions from, there are:
To revoke permissions for these objects under every site collection, tick the box(es) against your choice(s).
3. Copy or Move Permissions
Follow the below steps to copy or move permissions and group memberships from one SharePoint group or user to many others.
Select the farm where group membership and permissions of a user or SharePoint group need to be copied to another. To select site collections of the farm, click Select site collection(s) under the farm's name. It'll pop-open a window that lists all site collections. Search site collections by name using the search bar provided. To search up site collections using web applications as reference, you can switch to tree view by clicking the tree view icon at the right top corner of the window.
From that list, tick the boxes against the web application or site collection as per your need. Click on Select at the bottom of the window.

4. Check Permissions
Follow the below steps to check permissions that are assigned directly or indirectly to any SharePoint groups or users.
Select the farm whose site collections' permissions need to be checked. To select site collections of the farm, click Select site collection(s) under the farm's name. It'll pop-open a window that lists all site collections. Search site collections by name using the search bar provided. To search up site collections using web applications as reference, you can switch to tree view by clicking the tree view icon at the right top corner of the window.
From that list, tick the boxes against the web application or site collection as per your need. Click on Select at the bottom of the window.

You can filter out the site collections whose permissions were directly given or via SharePoint Group. To use this option, enable either Directly or Via SharePoint group by ticking the box against your choice.
