Salesforce Uniform Resource Identifier (URI) event monitoring

Salesforce event monitoring is one of the many tools that Salesforce provides to help keep your data secure. User activities are referred to as events, and event monitoring gives you a granular view of user activities in your organization.

UriEvent is an object that stores the event data of URIEventStream. It detects when a user accesses, updates, creates, or deletes a record in Salesforce Classic.

Field Type Properties Description
EventDate Date and time Filter, sort The date and time when a URI event happened after the query execution takes place. For example, 2020-08-19 T 14:12:23.
EventIdentifier String Filter, sort The unique ID of the event. For example, 0b4779b0-0da1-4619-a383-0a46891dff90.
Message String Nillable The message that appears when the operation fails. For example, OperationStatus= FAILURE.
Name String Nillable The name of the record being edited/viewed.
QueriedEntities String Nillable The API name of the objects referenced by the URI.
RecordId Reference Nillable The ID of the record being viewed or edited. For example, 001RM000003cjx6YAA.

Accessing this object requires the following:

  • Either a Salesforce Shield or Salesforce Event Monitoring add-on subscription.
  • User permission to view real-time event monitoring data.

Salesforce URI event type

The user's interaction with the web browser interface gets recorded in the URI events. The table below provides insights on the different types of events.

CPU_TIME Number The CPU time (in milliseconds) used to complete a request. -
DB_BLOCKS String The amount of activities occurring in the database. -
DB_TOTAL_TIME Number The time in nanoseconds for a database round trip. Compare this field to CPU_TIME to determine whether performance issues are occurring in the database layer or in your own code. -
EVENT_TYPE String The type of event. The value will always be the URI. -

REFERRER_URI String The referring URI of the page that’s receiving the request. -
