How to Disable non linked GPOs in Active Directory

Objective : Disabling of non linked GPOs

Solution : ADManager plus allows All GPOs and Linked AD objects report to be generated and these GPOs along with their user/computer configuration settings to be disabled.

Steps to disable Non-linked GPOs (For build 6590 and above) .

1. Click Reports.
2. Select GPO reports All GPOs and Linked AD Objects.
3. Select the domain and click 'Generate'.
4. The GPOs with their linked objects will be displayed. Identify the non-linked GPOs from the list.
5. Click Management Tab.
6. Select GPO Management Manage GPOs.
7. Select the preferred domain from the drop down list and select the non linked GPO(s) identified from the earlier reports and select 'Disable' from the drop down list in the 'Manage' option or select the 'Disable' button for the desired configuration settings(user/computer).
8. Thus the selected non-linked GPO with the selected configuration - User or computer configuration settings will be disabled.

In builds prior to 6590 , the steps to disable Non-linked GPOs are same until step 5. From step 6, follow the below steps.

1. Select GPO Management GPO Management.
2. Select the preferred domain from the left navigation panel and select the non linked GPO(s) identified from the earlier reports and select the 'Disable' button for the desired configuration settings(user/computer).
