How to set up AD users accounts to expire at a certain time?

Objective:Set up AD users accounts to expire at a certain point in time.

Steps:

There are several methods to set up user accounts to expire at a certain time.

Method 1: Set expiration date while creating single users.

1. Click the Management tab.
2. Select the Create Single User link.
3. Fill up all the attributes required through the tabs shown.
4. Click the Accounts tab.
5. In Account Properties, enter the time at which you want the account to expire in the Account Expires column.
6. Once you've entered all the required details for the user account, click Create.

Method 2: Create a template to set up a common expiration time for a set of new user accounts.

1. Click the Management tab.
2. Select the User Creation Templates link.
3. Click Create New Template.
4. Under the Accounts tab, enter the time at which you want the account to expire.
5. Click Create.

Method 3: Import a CSV file, with the accountExpires attribute filled.

1. Click the Management tab.
2. Open the Create Users link.
3. Click the Import button to import a CSV file, with the accountExpires attribute mentioned (provide the desired value in "MM-dd-yyyy" format).
4. Select the OU where the user accounts need to be added and click Create.

In a similar manner, you can also enter an expiration date for existing user accounts through any of the following steps.

• Management → User management → Modify Single User → Modify Account Expires column.
• Management → User management → User Modification Templates → Create New Template
• Management → User management → Modify Users (by importing a CSV file with the required attributes mentioned)
