Switch log monitoring
All communication within a company's building or campus is made possible through the use of network switches. Security administrators can greatly benefit from monitoring log information generated by these switches, as they provide valuable information about network traffic, accepted and denied connections, and more.
EventLog Analyzer is the ideal switch monitoring software, as it centrally collects logs from Cisco and HP switches to generate predefined reports and alerts to help monitor and secure every switch. You can combine this information with insights from all your other network devices and tighten overall network security.
Switch logon reports
Monitor all successful and failed switch logons, or use individual reports to track each type of logon (e.g. SSH and VPN). See which devices, users, and remote devices are logging on to your switches most frequently, and keep track of logon activity trends.
Switch configuration and system event reports
Monitor switch configuration changes and identify which users and devices are making these changes. Keep track of all up links and down links on your network switches, as well as errors and changes to the link states. You can also monitor switch ports and their status, check which interfaces are up or down, and track other hardware events to ensure your network switches are always in good working condition.
Switch connection reports
View lists of all connections accepted or denied by your network switches. Identify where most of these connection requests are coming from, as well as the destination devices on your network that are receiving these requests. Identify connection patterns with the connection trends report.
Switch traffic reports by protocol
Monitor switch traffic based on protocol, with individual reports to give you details about TCP, UDP, and ICMP traffic. Discover which sources are sending the most traffic to your switches, or run the overview report to view all traffic passing through your network switches. You can also monitor various traffic-related errors with individual reports, which provide details on each type of error.
