What is temporary access?
Temporary access is the privileged access granted to the devices that are not present in the trusted device list. This access is valid temporarily until it expires. The duration of access must be configured in the temporary access policy at the time of policy creation.
In some cases, the user or the device may have no access to the internet. For example, an employee offsite may want to read a certain file. In such cases, the user has to request for the access code to the Device Control Plus administrator. The administrator in turn, generates an access code and mails it to the end user. The user must apply this code in order to verify the authenticity, which grants the temporary access permissions.
There are two methods by which temporary access can be assigned to a device:
- Granting temporary access to devices within the network.
- Requesting temporary access for offline devices.
